Gold leaf can add glamour and excitement to artworks, decor and fashion alike. In this introduction to gold-leaf workshop, Jess Ward, the artist behind Good Yarns, will share techniques and advice for applying gold leaf to an art print. By the end of this workshop, you’ll have your very own, gold-leafed art print, as well as the knowledge to apply gold leaf in your own crafts.
Materials Provided: Gold leaf, adhesive (PVA), brushes, your choice of two A5 Good Yarns art prints, packaging for your completed art print (optional)
A light afternoon tea will be provided during the break
Brief overview of the day’s agenda:
- Quick presentation of the history and use of gold leaf in art.
- Spotlight on different types of gold leaf and their applications.
- Demonstration of surface preparation and adhesive application techniques.
- Hands-on practice: create a small sample artwork to test techniques.
- Packaging your completed A4 artwork to gift or take home.(two designs to choose from)

Numbers for this workshop are very limited - to ensure an enjoyable experience. Bring a friend or come and make new ones! This unique workshop is being held at our shop located at 247 Jackson Street, Petone from 4pm - 6pm on Sunday 1st December.
